January 2009
Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations to Kathy Setterberg for being selected as our January volunteer of the month.
Kathy has lived in Fernley for 13 years, prior to living in Fernley Kathy and her family lived in Garden Grove, California. Kathy has been volunteering at The Fernley Senior Center for 3 ½ years. Kathy duties as a volunteer here at the center include conducting the boogiesize class, calling Penny Bingo, attending the front desk a couple of times a week and decorating the Center for all its holidays.
Kathy is an incredible person and does so much here at the center that to be honest we couldn’t do it without her. Kathy volunteers around 25 hours a week. She makes everything look so beautiful for all the holidays. Kathy became a volunteer by offering to call Penny bingo and that’s how it all started.
Kathy loves working with the people at the Fernley Senior Center. Kathy is married to Jim and they have 2 sons, Shawn and Eric, and 2 daughters in law Michelle and Courtnie, 3 grandsons Brandon 10, Conner 2 and Justin 2.
Kathy’s former professor was a Mother and House Wife, the toughest job in the world and the most rewarding.
