Congratulations to Beverly Miller for being selected as our June volunteer of the month.

Beverly has lived in Fernley for 40 years. Prior to living in Fernley Beverly lived in Salem, Oregon. Beverly has two sons, one daughter in law, 3 grand children, one brother and one sister in law.

Prior to retiring Beverly worked as a registered nurse for 49 ½ years. Beverly has been volunteering since 2001.

Every week Beverly volunteers her time 3 ½ hours a day or when ever she is needed working the front desk greeting our seniors as they come to sign in for lunches. She also volunteers in our Gift and Thrift each week. Beverly has been doing this for three years here at the center and she says she like doing things in the community and likes being with people.

Beverly states it is such a great feeling you get when you are helpful to others, it’s nice to give back to someone else. I like doing for others, guess that’s why I went into the nursing field.

We love having Beverly at the front desk and our Gift and Thrift, her sweet smile and kindness is what everyone truly enjoys when they first come into the center.
