John Mariotti of Relentless Martial Arts announced today a fund raiser for the community garden project to be held this Sunday the 8th of March at 2PM.
The community garden project will be open to everyone who wishes to learn and participate in gardening and the satisfaction that arises from reaping what you sow.
The fund raiser, titled "Cooking with Marcello" will be a 2 hour cooking class exploring fresh food preparation and new and exciting ways of creating healthy nutritious meals without processed ingredients. The class will be led by Robert Humphrey, the proprietor of Marcello’s Ristorante and Bar, home of Innovative Italian cuisine in Minden. "I love John’s passion for community service and I think a community garden is great way for everyone to enjoy fresh healthy food. I am excited to teach people how to prepare fresh vegetables and more in ways that are easy and tasty for the entire family," Robert Humphrey said.
John Mariotti continued, "We are requesting people call to reserve space for this event since the kitchen at 55 West Cedar is not huge. Robert is an outstanding chef, Marcello’s is a truly amazing restaurant and we are very fortunate to have some one of his caliber here to teach us about healthy and nutritious food preparation. This class is also a template Robert and I are working on for a regular internet show. I look forward to seeing everyone there!"
