I ran against Curt Chaffin in the last election. It was not because I thought Mr. Chaffin was dishonest or did not have the best interest of our City in mind. Nor was it because I thought he was working more for a Special Interest Group. It was because I had some viewpoints on what I believed the direction of Fernley should have been. I had and still have some beliefs on where the City should head and some things we need to focus on. Again, these are my views. Why is it some of the very people who worked to get Curt re-elected, are now so intent on putting him out of office? Curt Chaffin is one of the most honest people I have ever known. It was an honor to run against him in the last election.
I have had the opportunity to work with Curt on a professional level and on a personal level as well and his integrity is beyond reproach.
I do not understand how no one wanted to step up and run during a normal election cycle, suddenly find the time and energy to go for a recall and special election.
Why put the City through the expense of this at this point in time?
