Fernley Flood Letters

January 5, 2008 Submitted by Shannon I want to thank those who helped get my daughter and my 19 month grandson out of their home on Shadow Mountain Drive. She was home alone at the time without a car and they had to be taken from the home by boat, they were then transferred to a truck that also became stuck in the flood and again had to be transferred to a bigger truck. She and my grandson finally reached safety and were reunited with her husband. It was he who called her from work that morning to wake her up with the news about a levee break. This took place about 7am and I' ve been hearing that the levee broke around 5am. Why wasn't there any more warning for those who were in bed sleeping?   A grateful Nanna
