Wanted to let my "Other" family know that we are fine! A Levee broke in our city, had water rushing in, My neighborhood was one that was AFFECTED terribly!
My house was like an island, the side fence got about an inch and the front of the house and property was spared, it got a house length away! AmAZING. told my hubby, Mike our Karma is Awesome, we must going in the right direction in our lives (univera included).
We were sandbagging peoples homes we didnt even know, there were dogs of all shapes and sizes in my living room with neighbors so cold they were borderline hypothermic. Serving tea and making them sit by the fire, while borrowing socks to keep bare feet warm.
Makina my 9 year old the sweetest thing ever, was holding big signs she had made on poster board with Markers that read "Please Make Sand Bags" she was so brave!!!!! I am so PROUD of her!
*I was so scared, my husband pulled us together and got us and our neighbors together as best as he could. Alot of our friends and neighbors LOST everything, I am trying to get donations (any kind) to help out, as I am serving others first through Univera, and I am a Girl Scout leader...
Anyway, thought I would give you all an update and the more POSITIVE thoughts out there for my friends, neighbors and Community the BETTER.... Pass along... Thank you for all you do for me and mine!
