How much longer are the people of Fernley going to stand by and watch new home's, businesses and school's being built, before you and the city of Fernley government decide to get a real hospital here.? Ask your self this, " Can I afford the ambulance ride to Fallon, Sparks or Reno ? Can I afford the helicopter ride to either of these other cities?"
I think you people of Fernley and the Fernley City government need to wake up and smell the coffee,and take a long hard look around. The Family Medical Center in Fernley is not open 24 hours a day, nor is it equipped to handle an emergency, they will send you to Reno.
There are Dr.s that live here and commute to the bigger city. All we really need is a hospital with about 50 bed's and a real emergency room, that is open 24 hour's a day-7 day's a week.. Remember the movie with Kevin Costner " Field of Dreams" when the voice in the corn field said to him " IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME. So if you, ( the city ) build the hospital, Doctor's will come to Fernley.
