Fernley's First Annual Women's Professional Leadership Symposium

July 23, 2008 Fernley’s Youth City Council will hold it's First Annual Women's Professional Leadership Symposium at Fernley City Hall. The theme is "Power with Purpose: Leaders of Today and Tomorrow," and features keynote speaker Julianna Erdesz, Miss Nevada 2008 and Miss America 2009 contestant. Juliana will focus on her community service platform arts and education in the community) and on the benefits and opportunities of the Miss Nevada organization. The Leadership Symposium will be held Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm Fernley City Hall - 595 Silver Lace Blvd., Council Chambers Whether you're a student, just starting your career, or well established in your field, don't miss this opportunity to exchange ideas and connect with women who have distinguished themselves in business and the community. Join women leaders of today and tomorrow to learn about developing skills that will enhance your future success professionally and personally. Special guest speakers include: Elayne Logue, successful business owner and Fernley’s First Council-woman; Karla Kent owner of Kent’s Building Supply; Ann Maybury, Arts & Culture Commissioner and Project Designer and Manager of the post data processing portion of the Hubble Space Telescope; Kathy Heston, Lyon County Sheriff’s Administrative Services Bureau Captain and; Dali Wiederhoft Co-director, Miss Nevada Scholarship Organization: a Miss America State Pageant. Throughout the evening, participants will have opportunities to exchange ideas, be involved in sessions presented by women who are leaders throughout the community. Attendees can network with professionals and others who share their values and concerns. This will be a learn and grow opportunity during an informal evening of education, discussion and reflection about professional and personal success.
