COMMUNITY MEETINGS
Emotional Healing Continued…
An evening with Warren Dale,
Fellow of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress
May 15, 6:30- 8 PM
Cottonwood Elementary School, 925 Farm District Rd., Fernley, NV
Sponsored by the Fernley Flood Recovery Team
After a community traumatic event, families often have questions about what they, their school, and their community have just gone through. They want to know that their family and children are regaining their sense of direction. They want to know what they can do to help their family, school, neighbors, and community improve their sense of healing.
Warren Dale, a Fellow of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, will speak to the Fernley, Nevada community on how to understand and facilitate self healing from stress, cumulative stress, and post traumatic stress at an evening workshop May 15 (followed by a presentation the next morning to school and church leaders and mental health workers). He has offered such presentations to communities:
* post-Hurricane Katrina
* post-fires in Southern California
* post-earthquake, in Mexico and El Salvador
* post-conflict in Bosnia; and
* post-tsunami, in Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
After speaking Mr. Dale will respond to questions in his easy to understand style.
May 16, 9 AM-Noon
Calvary Chapel, 875 Fremont St., Fernley, NV 89408
School officials, church coordinators, and professional mental health workers are invited to hear Warren Dale speak on providing support in ways that help the community regain its resiliency.
