Teleportec technology made a spectacular contribution to addressing the problem of SARs. A virtual global conference, organised by broking and investment banking group, CLSA was undertaken using twenty one Teleportec systems in nine different global locations. Government leaders as well as industry players were teleported from different time zones to appear on stage in front of delegates in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and New York. Over a three day period over 300 presentations were made "live and in apparent 3D" to over 1000 institutional investors.
Asia Business Times reported that "other than teleported speakers everything was as real as any ordinary conference would be".
The Wall Street Journal said "speakers appear to be standing life sized at the podium in the same room as the investors. The presenters could also see the audience… enabling both to interact in real time. Mr Zheng, an Asia specialist at Neon Capital to the Wall Street Journal that "the quality was good…I could see the expression on his face".
Teleportec was founded in Manchester, England in 1999.
Teleportec has grown into a thriving international business with Headquarters in Dallas, Texas and a mainland European arm, Teleportel, with offices in Brussels, Paris and Munich.
