Lyon County Offers Services To Struggling Families

July 17, 2008 Lyon County Human Services offers a wide variety of programs and services to families including assistance with rent, utilities, food and shelter. Families that may have a termination notice for utilities or are behind on rent or mortgage payments may be able to get assistance through the Emergency Assistance program. Various grants are used to support the program, and not all are dependent on income, so applicants are encouraged to call and obtain more information from Human Services. In addition, referrals can be provided to local resources such as state utility assistance, rental deposit programs, housing, credit counseling, and other public assistance services.
