In response to the long term recovery and un-met needs of the flood affected residents of Fernley, NV, the "Fernley Long Term Recovery Team" has been established.
The purpose of this organization is to coordinate the efforts of the various volunteer disaster relief organizations, local businesses, community volunteers, and fund raising efforts.
Our goal is to help our neighbors through the long term recovery processes.
Long term recovery begins as emergency response groups like FEMA and the American Red Cross transition out of the effected area.
Local resources and volunteer disaster response groups are needed to fill the gap between emergency and recovery.
In Fernley, NV, volunteers from next door, and volunteers from across the nation have been working in and under homes to remove saturated building material, insulation, ductwork, carpets and cabinetry since the day after the flood. Many homes have been repaired, many more family's are living in temporary housing, camping in trailers at neighbors and friends, trying to put their lives back together.
