'Ashlee's Toy Closet' helped the Schulze family children after they lost everything they owned as a result of a devastating house fire last week in Gardnerville. Ashlee heard about the family from the paper and knew that her toy closet had a new assignment. We contacted the family to get ideas on the children's likes and dislikes. Ashlee then began matching toys and clothes accordingly. We were able to meet the family on Monday May 5, 2008 at the Bowling Alley in Gardnerville, NV.
Ashlee was so excited to hand the toys over to the children that she had meticulously collected. The sight of the children's eyes when we brought in a huge box full of items all for them was amazing. There really are no words to describe the immense feeling of warmth and compassion knowing that those children now had something to smile about.
This is the exact event that Ashlee's Toy Closet was created for. It was and is Ashlee's mission to help each and every child affected by a disaster whether large or small.
