Carson City - Governor Jim Gibbons today appointed Robin Reedy as his new Chief of Staff.

Reedy is eminently qualified for this job and brings tremendous leadership, organizational and financial skills to the table,” Governor Gibbons said, “I am pleased she has accepted the position, her experience will help me guide Nevada through these difficult economic times.” Gibbons added, “Ms. Reedy’s fresh new ideas will help my office and all Nevadans as we all work together to lay the foundation for economic recovery.”

Reedy has worked for the State of Nevada for 19 years, starting as an account clerk in the Treasurer’s Office while Bob Miller was Governor. During Ms. Reedy’s tenure at the Treasurer’s Office she was responsible for the investment and debt portfolios as Chief Deputy Treasurer. During her career at the Treasurer’s Office, Ms. Reedy coordinated the lease purchase concept at the State level giving the State of Nevada taxpayers the ability to own a building versus renting space.

Reedy is presently Deputy Director at the Nevada Department of Business and Industry overseeing 14 different Divisions which are regulatory in nature and also involve business development. She will begin her new job as Chief of Staff for Governor Jim Gibbons on Monday July 13th.

“I am excited to embark on this important challenge,” Reedy said, “I am anxious to hit the ground running and put my professional experience to work for Governor Gibbons and the people of Nevada.” Reedy intends to advance Governor Gibbons’ efforts to diversify Nevada’s economy by attracting new businesses, creating new jobs and attracting more tourists. With her vast experience in finance, Reedy also plans to seek new ways to enhance the efficiency of government in Nevada and keep providing the highest quality government service during this economically difficult time.

“I am honored Governor Gibbons selected me and I will work aggressively to help the Governor carry out his vision of prosperity and success for every Nevadan,” Reedy said.

Robin Reedy has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from California State University-Chico. She lives in Gardnerville, Nevada with her husband Barry. They have three grown children and three grandchildren.
