GOVERNOR GUINN HAVING HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY

CARSON CITY – Gov. Kenny Guinn this morning is undergoing hip replacement surgery on his right hip at Spring Valley Medical Center in Las Vegas. He is expected to be in recovery at Spring Valley Medical Center until this Thursday or Friday. Dr. Todd Swanson is performing the surgery.

While Governor Guinn is in surgery, in accordance with state law, Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt is the acting governor.

Although Gov. Guinn will be recuperating from the surgery for several weeks and be curtailing his travel and appearance schedule during the month of April, he will be “on the job” throughout the recovery process.
