FLOOD ASSISTANCE FOR THE CITY OF FERNLEY

As our friends in Fernley are working around the clock to recover from Saturday’s devastating canal break that flooded approximately 800 homes, IGT is offering a way to support the relief efforts.

IGT has partnered with the Northern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross to provide a dollar-for-dollar match on employee donations to the local disaster relief fund. A payroll deduction form will be available to employees who wish to donate. Please look for an upcoming announcement with additional details and a link for donations.

HOW WILL YOUR DONATION BE USED?

The Red Cross has established a Family Assistance Center at Fernley City Hall and will be implementing a full assistance program which will include case workers who will perform needs assessments and who will work with officials to determine the amount of damage to each home. Once a family has this damage assessment they can be issued a debit card to purchase basic household supplies, clothing etc.   The Red Cross will be providing counseling services and will also be working with Lyon County Social Service agencies to provide necessary referrals.

They are currently providing hot meals and clean up kits to the affected neighborhoods.
