Would you punish your child for someone elses crime?
If you kid was in a classroom, and someone else was constantly shooting spitballs at the Venetian blinds, is it fair for the teacher to give the entire class detention?
If during lunch someone tosses a cardboard milk container at the wall making a big splashy mess, should the principal ban all milk for all children?
If there are bad drivers, should the government be able to send out their armed enforcers to lie in wait outside the local drive-thru window to pull you over and cite you for not wearing your seatbelt?
I have long felt that the government has the wrong ideas about governing, and the reasons compound daily.
The latest fiasco is the medicine-registration you now have to go through in some states (and there is a federal bill pending to make EVERY state do the same) just to buy a box of cold tablets or bottle of NyQuil in order to make it a little difficult for the methamphetamine manufacturers.
I have been in a state where it took me about 10 minutes at Walmart just to get up to the pharmacy window so I could ask for a box of antihistamine tablets, then another 10 while the attendant made the appropriate entries into their computer.
Why should WE, the law-abiding public, be forced to endure this nonsense? Is the Meth crowd is so sneaky that they are constantly buying tons of these products and no one notices, thereby making the production of Meth easier?.
(If no one notices, then why the heck are we spending so much money on enforcement?)
What the heck ?
Is the government now making the penalty for meth a felony and the possession of NyQil a misdemeanor?
Well let me get this straight. We, the people who obey the law, are being herded into lines in order to make it a little more difficult for the law-breakers.
So let's see if I got this straight.
If you break the law, you'll probably steal what you need or use something else in the manufacture of meth.
However, if you're a law-abiding citizen, you can be guaranteed that you'll be punished without regard for your runny nose if you should DARE to try to purchase cold tablets without registration.
Let's just add this to the list of stupid things which the government has decided that we must do. For our own good.
Aren't you glad we have the government to take care of us?
