Illegal Immigration
March 27, 2006
On behalf of all those persons who are here legally, I'd like to say I've had it with the people who would surrender this country to the hordes of illegal aliens who already here and who have re-enforcements arriving daily.
Those who are shilling for the illegals, as well as those who sponsor them, say they do the work that Americans won't do.
Have you ever been to Home Depot or some other store where they hang out, waiting for some American in a Pick-up truck to offer them a job? The guys I know in the construction business who use them say they won't work for less than 10 bucks an hour. Doesn't sound cheap to me.
And once they are given amnesty, do you think they will take less? Ha! They'll unionize and that will be that.
The only thing they do which Americans don't, as a rule, is work in the fields as pickers of melons and what-not.
And yet it's estimated that the COST of the illegal problem is almost unbelievable. For example, hundreds of billions are spent yearly to subsidize the medical industry for services rendered to illegals. Hundreds more billions are spent to school and teach their kids.
And because that money is taken directly through taxes, then repackaged and sent indirectly through the various agencies, it disappears off the radar, so the public never knows that the peach which an illegal picked for pennies actually costs him a buck or more.
So what would happen if we buttoned up the borders, deported all illegals, and forced those who were here legally to learn English before becoming a citizen?
For one thing, it would be the start of the U.S. becoming a country again. A melting pot, remember that? Instead of a bunch of hooligans carrying the Mexican flag telling the citizens of this country that WE had better let them stay or else.
For another, the cost of goods and services would go up a little. But with the tax savings, both now and exponentially in the future, it would be well worth it.
Immediate benefits would include, not having to endure the omnipresent gaggle of Spanish speakers in the grocery store, in Wal-Mart, and in any place where the public gathers. And imagine the sheer joy one would experience going through the take-out window at a fast food chain and not having to worry about speaking into the speaker and having a Mexican, Guatemalan, or Colombian attempt to get your order right? Heaven.
Try this, lower insurance rates. Uninsured motorist car insurance would drop drastically.
Or this, taxes would be lower because we wouldn't have to house the illegals in our jails.
Or this, homeowners insurance would lower because the Chicano Street gangs would be decimated? And the crime rate from those gangs would drop, as well as the cost of enforcing the laws they violate.
Or this, no longer would graffiti be a major problem in most cities, the cost of repainting, repair etc. would drop, and the need for more taxes would drop in direct relation to that.
The cost / benefit ratio of letting the illegal immigration continue is moot, it would be more than offset with cost savings to both Government and Joe Six-pack as well.
So when the spokesmen for the illegal immigration say the illegals do the work that Americans won't, tell 'em you'd rather pay a nickel more for the peach, it's cheaper that way.
