Dateline: Omaha 2006
October 25, 2006
According to the Omaha Police Dept's website, 2nd quarter Executive Summary, there were 63,632 calls for service during that period. This is the latest information which is available.
It's a tough job, police officer, responding to calls for service, ranging from murders, mayhem, rape ,robbery's and now
cigarette smoking?
Yes folks, the Omaha city council has just passed and instituted a policy of non-smoking in public places in that city, and the residents are being encouraged to report violators by the EMERGENCY 911 SYSTEM which tax payers have paid for.
George Orwell's 1984 was a chilling depiction of how the power of the state could come to dominate the lives of individuals through cultural conditioning.
Pretty good job of writing, and scoffed at by those at the time as too far fetched. Never happen. Not HERE. This is the United States, land of the free. Right....
And so I took a look at the cultural conditioning which has taken place in this country in the past 40 years, ever since Johnson's Great Society reared it's ugly head.
We've lost the right to tell jokes in public (ethnic, religious, sexist, well, anything which might be considered "offensive"); lost the right to learn anything which may be true but which is offensive while in school, lost the right to "touch" other kids while in school by games like tag; touch football; etc.; lost the right to even get HURT while in the playground with the removal of such things as swings, carousels etc.; lost the right to have our children taught in schools which actually teach all day instead of instructing them on how to act for half the day; lost the right to drive in a car without being buckled up despite the protests of those of us who think it's our choice; lost the right to smoke on airplanes, airports, public places, and now I've heard in some cities even in cars and our homes. Lost the right to say that a section of town is going downhill and the gangs are going wild because of those who inhabit it if identified by race.
And now they are, in Omaha at least, making it possible to call 911 and get a police response for someone actually having the audacity to light up in public.
The politically correct crowd have taken over the government and the courts, and madness has followed.
You watch, in Fernley, NV., people will probably not be allowed to smoke in Casino's one of these days. Oh hell, I forgot,, it's already begun.
How long till someone gets the bright idea to call 911 for someone smoking outside THAT casino?
Cultural conditioning is an easy thing to accomplish if taken a little at a time, inch by inch, until it's the accepted norm.
Welcome Cultural Conditioning, Goodbye Freedom.
