The Installation of the Sgt. Stewart's Pentacle Plaque was completed and placed on the Wall of Heros in Fernley, NV November 20th.
A special dedication ceremony of Sgt. Stewart's Memorial Plaque with Pentacle is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wall of Heroes Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada.
This event will commemorate the first time a Pentacle has been included as the Wiccan emblem of belief on a government-issued memorial plaque for a deceased veteran. It will honor the memory of Sgt. Patrick Stewart, killed in action in Operation Enduring Freedom on September 25, 2005 and give thanks to government officials and others supportive of the Veteran Pentacle Quest.
This dedication ceremony is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Lady Liberty League, a Wiccan/Pagan civil rights and religious freedom organization coordinated by Circle Sanctuary.
Speakers scheduled for this event will include:
- Roberta Stewart, widow of Sgt. Stewart
- Rev. William Chrystal, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Reno, Nevada and military chaplain
- Rev. Selena Fox, executive director of the Lady Liberty League and high priestess of Circle Sanctuary of Barneveld, Wisconsin
- and others
