On Friday the 13th of June Management abruptly announced to it's employees that the Casino, Restaurant, Bar and Motel would be closed for good.
Mac Potter, regional manager for the Holder Group stated that the economic state of the truckers inhibited truckers to enjoy the leisures of the facility.
Potter says reopening the casino is always an option but will remain closed as long as the economy remains in its current condition.
Truck Inn has been for sale along with other properties and says it will preserve the property. The property is now advertising a "New Lower Price" of 7M for its 20.13 acres.
Rose Tapia, of the Fernley Chamber of Commerce, said the Holder Group, which owns more than 10 casinos as well as the event center, has put them on the market.
The closing will also likely affect this years Senior Pro Rodeo. In years past Truck Inn offered rooms for participating Cowboys.
The Fuel Desk, Store, Showers and Laundry at the Truck Inn will remain open.
