WASHINGTON, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Nevada ranks 38th in the nation in funding programs to protect kids from tobacco, according to a national report released today by a coalition of public health organizations.
Nevada currently spends $2 million a year on tobacco prevention programs, which is 14.8 percent of the minimum amount of $13.5 million recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Last year, Nevada ranked 29th and spent $3.8 million on tobacco prevention.
