The Fernley Pool is hosting two fund raising events next week to benefit the flood victims. “A Drop in the Bucket” event will be held on Wednesday, January 23rd during Family Night Swim session and Friday January 25th during the afternoon Open Swim and Teen Night sessions. Donations literally “dropped” in the bucket will serve as admission to swim during those sessions.
The Lifeguards will be doing some fundraising too. The Buddy Swim-a-Thon will be asking sponsors to pledge any amount for each lap they swim. They will also be partnering with the Fernley Sharks Swim Team. The swim-a-thon is scheduled for Saturday January 26th from 9:00am to 10:00am. Everyone is invited to come and watch and cheer on their favorite swimmers.
All the funds collected from these events will be deposited in the account established at Wells Fargo Bank. This fund will be distributed locally to help the Fernley flood victims.
