American Legion #37 Schedules its Spring Yard Sale for April 14-15

03/26/07 Fernley News

Somehow, it just seems right that American Legion #37 start spring with  its first yard sale of the year.  Scheduled for the weekend of 14-15 April, the sale will be held at the storage facility, 405 E. Main Street, Fernley.  Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

According to the Post spokesman, there will be a wide variety of items, both new and used, at bargain prices.  Proceeds benefit the Legion Christmas for Kids, Building Fund, scholarships and other community-wide programs.

“We’re available to pick up of reusable, saleable items,” points out Jerry Finley presently serving as the Post Judge Advocate.  Along with his wife Jan, an Auxiliary member, Finley has helped organize numerous  activities, serving the needs of veterans and their families.  Finley may be reached at 575-0420.

According to Post Commander, David Sandfoss, “Our group has proudly assumed the charter for a Fernley Boy Scout Troop.  Formerly known as Troop #494, it has taken the number #737 in honor of its new sponsor and the year in which the affiliation began.  Second Vice Commander Chuck Somers is serving as liaison on this project.

To join either the Post or Auxiliary, contact Commander or Mrs. Sandfoss at 575-6850.  The next monthly meeting will be held at 7 p.m., April 12 in the Fernley Moose Lodge, 480 W. Main Street.  Transportation is available.
